The Perfect Salmon Marinade

For a lot of people, especially avid Salmon River fishermen, salmon is a go-to option when it comes to a healthy dinner. Let’s face it eating the same meal week after week gets boring. It only takes about 5 minutes to whisk together some olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, and fresh herbs to add amazing flavor. The secret is using fresh ingredients in this salmon marinade to highlight the natural flavors and textures of the fish in a subtle and light way. The marinade doesn’t dominate the dish it simply just makes it taste better than if it were cooked plain. After all who doesn’t want their food to have great flavor.

In a large bowl whisk together the following ingredients for our marinade. Make sure to set aside ¼ of the marinade for use later.

• ½ cup olive oil
• ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
• 2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
• 1 Tablespoon honey
• 3 Tablespoons of our Garlic & Herb seasoning

Place the salmon and marinade in a glass bowl or large zip-lock bag. Gently move the marinade around the fish to it is all coated. Place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or so but now more than one hour.

Remove the salmon and place on the grill over medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side. Brush the salmon with the reserved ¼ cup of marinade a couple of times while cooking the fish. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork. Now all that is left is to enjoy.
